I Fall Back Down Get Up Again
Winston Churchill one time said, "Success is not final, failure is non fatal: it is the courage to proceed that counts."
There are going to be times in life when we fall straight on our face.
In that location are going to exist times when we set goals for ourselves but we simply fall short of meeting them.
There are going to be times when we'll have expectations of ourselves that will exist met with disappointment.
How we treat these moments is the departure betwixt being boilerplate and being truly groovy.
Confession: I'm Failing Correct Now
I'm finding myself in a situation where I'k non meeting my own expectations for myself.
I set a goal for myself that I would go out street witnessing every Thursday during my lunch time.
This is a fourth dimension for me to laissez passer out gospel tracts and start conversations with complete strangers about their spiritual beliefs.
You run across, I'm a busy guy. I work and do ministry building 55 to sixty hours a calendar week.
I have a cute wife, a 3-sometime girl, and a 3-month sometime infant boy.
So in between, my family unit, my piece of work, and my ministry, the only fourth dimension that I tin really become out street witnessing is during my lunch time.
But recently, every time that a Thursday would come about, I would give in to the alibi of the day for non going out evangelizing.
"I have likewise many projects!"
"I have to meet this deadline!"
"Oh something came up and it needs my firsthand attending!"
Every bit a issue, information technology's been 7 weeks since I last went street witnessing.
I fifty-fifty used to requite out gospel tracts when I would become through the drive-thru of a fast nutrient eating house but I stopped doing that too.
I used to exist on burn sharing the gospel on the streets of Los Angeles but now I feel like my fire has burnt out.
Uhh, I fell like such a failure!
Thank God It's a Matter of Attitude
So when I came across this video, my perspective inverse.
I got a boost in my heart and I began to see things differently.
And then let me ask you lot this: imagine you're in a race running rails in a stadium and while you're running, you trip because of someone'south shoe and you fall flat on your confront.
What would you practice? Would you go support or would you only say, "Forget it, I'm never going to make it?"
This is the situation that Heather Dorniden found herself in recently.
Y'all won't believe what happened to her while she was running runway and the end event is fifty-fifty more surprising.
Watch this video.
Pretty amazing, right?
3 Reasons Why Yous Should Always Get Up After Yous Fall Down
And then when you lot observe yourself falling down like Heather or like me, you should ever get back upwards, even when yous feel like it'southward pointless.
Hither are iii skilful reasons why you should, no affair how far yous've been set back.
1. Reason # ane – God isn't finished with y'all all the same.
You have to retrieve that you lot're not perfect simply a piece of work in progress.
God doesn't expect you lot to be perfect. He adopted you as His kid knowing very well that you'll brand mistakes, autumn down, and mess things up.
The astonishing affair is that while He loves y'all just the way you are, He loves you too much to non want you to change.
God wants y'all to become more than similar Christ every day.
So realize that falling down is a natural part of running your race.
Getting back up and standing the race is optional.
ii. Reason #ii – It's never too tardily to exist what you might have been.
Heather could accept easily said to herself when she roughshod down, "Ahhh, it'south pointless for me to get dorsum up! In that location's no fashion that I can get first place."
But thank goodness she didn't think that manner and she got support.
Possibly yous didn't hear the story of the 99-year-old woman who graduated after 75 years of waiting.
It's the story of Jessie White who walked to school every 24-hour interval in 1939 on crutches to study stenography and bookkeeping.
Jessie had hopes for a bright future just unfortunately, a $5 transcript fee stopped her from graduating.
But that didn't end Jessie permanently from going back and finishing schoolhouse fifty-fifty though and so much time had passed by.
No matter how much time passes by, it's never too late to do the right thing.
iii. Reason #three – God wants to teach you valuable lessons.
Your experiences in life are important.
You can either echo the same mistakes over and over, or you can ask God to give you wisdom to learn from them and move on.
God is an expert at creating positive things out of the negative and turning bad things into good.
Many timesyou're failures can be turned into successes if you'll simply learn the lessons and apply it to your situation.
So The Adjacent Time You Want to Give Up…
Don't….
Don't ever requite upwards because
